Information Technology and Networking

Issa迪亚洛 is a 23-year-old Delaware Tech student who currently serves in the Delaware Army National Guard. He is an information technology and networking major 在学院’s 威明顿 campus. Diallo is also a member of the NICS (Network, Information and Computer Science) club. 

Diallo is from Liberia and moved to the United States in 2020 right before the COVID-19 pandemic. He joined the Army National Guard in November of the same year. There were difficulties adapting due to the changes in environment and with his support system. “Balancing work and school have been a struggle throughout, but with the help from my family and resources offered by the college, my academic performance has been excellent and I’m grateful for that,迪亚洛说.

It was important for Diallo to attend college to obtain his associate degree that will allow him to go on to a four-year institution to complete his bachelor’s degree and achieve his long-term career goal. His major of choice was an easy decision for him, because he has had a passion for technology since an early 年龄. He also mentioned that it is currently one of the most in-demand and lucrative careers. 

He chose Delaware Tech to pursue his career because “it’s the best local college around. The College is welcoming to all students no matter who you are, what you do, or where you’re from. It has a safe and accommodating environment for all students,” Diallo said. “It is less expensive and has a great staff. The veterans resource center 在学院 is one of the best support centers for student veterans in Delaware.”

Diallo describes his time at Delaware Tech as an amazing experience where he has learned a great deal from his instructors and advisors. “Some of my favorite classes area Programming I with Charles Whealton, Operating Systems I with Chris Terranova, and Networking I with Mike Knight. I could write a whole p年龄 naming and discussing them all.”

His dream career is to be a network engineer and to further his career in the military.
